Day 2 (35 km)

Day: Visit to Bastide de Sérou. Discover and visit the 19th-century covered market, old houses, remains of fortifications, the old flour mill, the 16th-century church of Notre-Dame des Sept Douleurs…

Lunch at the vacation village.

Afternoon: Visit to the Mas d’Azil cave and prehistory museum.

Let yourself be carried away by the magic of the place! The immensity of its cavities, the modern lighting and the soul that inhabits it are all points that the Grotte du Mas-d’Azil invites you to explore. Inhabited since time immemorial and long used as a refuge during turbulent periods in history, a visit to the Grotte du Mas-d’Azil is a fascinating experience for young and old alike.

The Musée de la Préhistoire aims to showcase the modernism and craftsmanship of the cave’s occupants through their remains, some of which are of great technical and artistic prowess.

Day 3 (66 km)

Day trip to COUSERANS. City of SAINT LIZIER: former bishopric of Couserans and stopover on the roads of Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle, this city preserves the testimonies of its prestigious past (the cloister, the treasure, the pharmacy). Lunch in an inn. Visit of the Aristide Bergès Museum where you will discover how paper is made.

Evening: Lotto evening with regional products to be won.

Day 4 (16 km) Driver rest

Morning: Morning at leisure. Lunch at the vacation village.

Afternoon: Visit to the Alzen eco-museum, traditional farm and themed garden.

Day 5 (50 km)

Morning: Visit to a cheese dairy. Perched at the top of the hill overlooking the lake, at an altitude of some 400 metres, the Mondély goat farm is a family-run business which, after thirty years in existence, has seen the arrival of the second generation of farm cheesemakers who have been working in organic farming for over 15 years.

Lunch at the vacation village.

Afternoon: Visit to the Château de FOIX: Even before entering the town, its imposing stature, dominating the valley, catches the eye of visitors and impresses with its height. A veritable emblem of the medieval era, in turn defensive, residential and prison, the château dominates the town of Foix. Stroll along the walkway between the towers, the loopholes and the machicolations and discover the symbols of their power… In addition to its perfectly preserved architecture, the castle houses part of the collections of the departmental museum.

Free visit of the old town and its narrow streets.

Evening: Ariège quiz

Day 6 (40 km)

Morning: Introduction to golf at the departmental eco-golf course. Lunch at the vacation village.

Afternoon: Free

Evening: Card games

Day 7 (85 km)

Morning: Visit the peddlers’ store. Discover the atmosphere of a real late 19th-century store! In the village of Soueix-Rogalle, the Maison Souquet is home to an old multi-purpose store: grocery, hardware, haberdashery, jewelry and religious objects, which also served as a supply point for peddlers. Lunch at the restaurant.

Afternoon: Visit to the Château de Seixvisit the historical monument (16th-18th centuries) and discover the Couserans valleys heritage interpretation center: pilot a virtual helicopter over the Pyrenees on the multimedia model, witness the formation of the mountain and find your bearings in this mosaic of rocks, decipher the assets and demands of life in a glacial valley, plunge into an eventful history, from Gallo-Roman times to the present day, admire the small Romanesque churches, walk in the footsteps of bear-watchers, ferrymen and shepherds without frontiers… As you pass through the rooms, share a little of the life of the men and women of these mountains!

Evening: Soirée Prestige. Ariège dinner and dance.

Day 8

Departure after breakfast.

This rate includes :

  • Accommodation in 2-person rooms (1 double bed or 2 single beds) with TV, equipped with showers, WCs and washbasins, in gîtes.
  • Linen provided, beds made up on arrival.
  • Catering (wine included, coffee included at lunch).
  • 2 restaurant lunches during your stay.
  • The provision of a guide for the visits and evenings included in the program.
  • Provision of a coach driver on day 4 for your driver’s rest.
  • Price calculated on the basis of 30 people and subject to change in the event of a drop in numbers.

Not included in the service :

  • Daily room cleaning
  • Transportation during your stay is provided by you (except on day 4).
