AVAPHA : MARC ET MONTMIJA was founded in 1958 by a number of families from Bordeaux and the surrounding region. Its main aim is to create, organize and manage vacation establishments within the framework of social tourism.

Its second goal is to contribute to the economic, cultural and social development of the territories where its realizations are implanted, by a local rooting and by an effective participation of its inhabitants in the life of the association.

The Marc and Montmija Association

History

For more than 20 years, the association’s main activity was to organize family vacations at its Maison Familiale, built between 1966 and 1974 at Marc, in the commune of Auzat.

In the early 80s, the association diversified its activities by organizing holidays for children, and broadened its range of accommodation with the management takeover of the St Bernard in Ascou. In 1991, the opening of the Tarbesou vacation village in Bonascre relaunched our family and adult group activities.

To date, Marc et Montmija manages 5 establishments in the Ariège department, with a total of 70,000 overnight stays per year.

A local, family-oriented association

A member of the Cap France network, Marc et Montmija is first and foremost an Ariege-based association whose Board of Directors is made up of local representatives.

Our association, Marc et Montmija, currently manages five vacation villages in the Ariège Pyrenees.

As vacation professionals, we offer our mountain experience and know-how to all holidaymakers, individuals or groups, whom we welcome all year round: retirees, sports enthusiasts, discovery classes, seminars…
