A large part of its territory has been a Parc Naturel Régional since 2009. The variety of flora and fauna is exceptional, and the transhumance of sheep, cows and Mérens horses is still active. Its grandiose, verdant landscapes range from the rolling hills of the foothills to the high peaks of 3000m, and include several of the Tour de France’s legendary mountain passes. Here, wide-open spaces are the norm, and a feeling of intense freedom invades and intoxicates you.
